Liverpool go into tonight's (Thursday) vital Premier League clash knowing a win over Manchester City will open up a big gap at the top. As it is, they are already seven points ahaed of their rivals and can make it ten.

City's boss, Pep Guardiola knows this is a must win for City whereas Liverpool could afford a draw. A seven point lead even at this stage of the season with 18 games to go will be hard to overhaul - 10 points probably beyond even City the way Liverpool are playing.

City fans will point to the fact that Liverpool failed in two key away games in the Champions League at Paris St Germain and Napoli but in the league they have been awesome.

Guardiola has stated his intention to opt for a long ball game to avoid Liverpool pressing City high up the field. But the 5-0 feat apart at the strat of last season, Liverpool have had the edge over City in the alst three seasons and did a Champions League double over City last term.

City could also be missing Kevin Du Bruyne although the suspended Fabian Delph could start.

Given all this, the 13/5 (Betfair SP) about a Liverpool win look worth risking rather than City at 11/10. Liverpool don't draw many.
