ENGLAND THREE LIOBNS NOT LOST A WEMBLEY QUALIFIER SINCE 2007

THREE LIOBNS NOT LOST A WEMBLEY QUALIFIER SINCE 2007

22nd March 2019

The Three Lions face the Czech Republic at Wembley on Friday night and should land the odds but don't expect a classic.

You have to go back to the 'Wally with the Brolly' for the last time England lost a home qualifier at Wembley. That night Steve McClaren's England lost to Croatia in a huniliating episode.

The current England squad are potentially the best since 1990 and 1996 and with Harry Kane back to his best should be good enough.

The Czechs are second seed in England's group and reached the final in 1996. But the current team has none of the stars of the past. They did win back to back games in November beating Slovakia and serial under achievers, Poland. Prior to that they lost to Ukraine again beating Slovakia losing to Russia and Ukraine again. Their nations league form was as expected losing the two Ukraine games and beating Slovakia twice.

They are without first choice keeper Tomas Vacilik and Ondrej Kolar has replaced him.

England have seen a clutch of withdrawls iincludingTrrent Alexander-Arnold, Fabian Delph, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and most notably Marcus Rashford.

But, the likes of Dele Alli, Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Ross Barkley should be able to get the breaks needed to win.

The Czechs lack a class front man and England to edge this 1-0 and 2-0 look backable with the 3/10 home price too short. It's a game where we can't make a case for an upset.
