Premier League D Day for Liverpool- they can beat Chelsea on way to title

D Day for Liverpool- they can beat Chelsea on way to title

25th April 2014

Liverpool skipper, Steven Gerrard already has one hand on the Premier League Trophy and his Liverpool team can go a long way to making that two hands.

In truth, the Anfield outfit have had a firm grip on the title for the past month and are a best priced 1/6 to take their first title for a quarter of a century.

Apart from the fact that Chelsea boss Jose Mourhino looks more interested in securing another Champions League final place by beating Atletico next week, his Chelsea sides do not have the best record at Anfield.

Liverpool, available at 4/5 earlier in the week are no better than 4/6 shots as we write and that price looks sure to go in the run up to the match.

Mourhino has pledged wholesale changes from the side that drew 0-0 in Madrid on Tuesday. This has seen a mountain of money for Liverpool. Had Chelsea lost heavily against Atletico this game would have been more significant than it perhaps now is for Chelsea.

Liverpool lost the reverse fixture 2-1 but have only lost one of the last six encounters on Merseyside, and those were with vastly inferior teams to the current crop.

Manchester City fans will be hoping for a miracle, but if Liverpool win this, the chances of them dropping points to Crystal Palace and Newcastle in their last two games look remote.
