A year is a long time in football. Any Everton will tell you that. Sitting pretty in the Premier League this time last season, the Toffees go into their home match with West Brom tonight three points above the relegation zone, not having won in 5 games in the Premier League.

Roberto Martinez isn't under any great pressure to keep his job, but results need to improve and quickly. They can start tonight against West Brom and at 17/20 with BetVictor, they are worth backing.

The Baggies will have their backers with Tony Pulis at the helm, but he hasn't been there long enough to impact the change required to get the win tonight. He did pick up a win in his first game in charge at the Hawthorns against Hull last week, but Everton will be a different proposition.

There is no getting away from the fact that Everton have been playing below expectations. They should be playing an active part in the most exciting race for the Champions League places, rather than looking nervously over their shoulder at the trapdoor to the Championship. It would be overly simplistic to blame their slump in form on one aspect in particular, but a lot of the games they have lost have been due to individual errors resulting in goals. Whilst that is always a characteristic of relegated teams, Everton have looked more like their old selves in recent games.

In the draws with West Ham in the cup and Man City in the League, there were enough signs that they have turned a corner. Tonight is a chance to prove it and at a fair price. The 17/20 isn't one to get carried away with, but still looks worth backing.

Verdict: Back Everton @ 7/20 BetVictor
