Leicester host Southampton in a rare Thursday night Premier League encounter, with Claude Puel once again coming up against his former side.

Puel spent just one season in charge of the Saints, arriving at the start of last season and being sacked at the end, and he joined the Foxes midway through this campaign.

He has guided Leicester into the top 10, while Southampton struggle against relegation under Mark Hughes, who replaced Puel’s replacement, Mauricio Pellegrino, earlier this year.

Hughes has still not won a Premier League game since arriving at St Mary’s, and Saints have in fact conceded three goals in each of his three games in charge.

A win for Southampton tonight would move them to within one point of safety, though they would have played one game more than Swansea in 17th.

Claude Puel: "Southampton is not my concern. I don't want to comment about Southampton. I can say I like a lot of people working at Southampton. I have a good relationship with a lot of players and people still there, but my focus is on Leicester and on this game. We want to defend our place in the top half of the table. We need to keep a serious ambition and defend our place because a lot of teams are close behind us. It is important for us to finish strongly and to prepare also for next season.”

Mark Hughes: "It's about not being afraid of the challenge, it's about not being apprehensive about the consequences. You've got to go out there and be able to perform when there's pressure on. I think we've got a group that can do that."

Betting wise, Leicester look a safer option and 7/5 is very generous - they should be odds-on.
